The gym is meditation. It’s a chance to carve an hour or two out of the stresses of your life, a place where nothing matters except for the never-ending battle between you and gravity. Find some really intense music, be it Beethoven, Bassnectar or the Beastie Boys, turn it up loud and stick to the simple shit in the gym - press, deadlift, squat, etc. Take the chance to be so overwhelmed by the task at hand that your life’s problems haven’t got a chance to creep in.
